1. How old does a child need to be to register for Little Athletics?


Children must be aged from 5 to 16 years on the 30th September.

2. When can I register?

You can register online, by mail or in person at the clubhouse.

3. Are late registrations taken?

Late registrations can be taken from 7pm on any competition night throughout the season.

4. How much will it cost to register?

Registration cost is $85 per athlete.
No credit card facilites available at the clubhouse.

5. How much will it cost for a club uniform?

Cost of uniform approx $40 available from clubhouse.

6. When does the season start and end?

The season starts on Friday 5th September 2008 and finishes in early March 2009.

7. When does St George Little Athletics meet to compete?

Competition is conducted on Friday nights commencing at 6:00pm.

8. Does the club compete during school holidays?

Only break over Christmas New Year otherwise we compete through school holidays.

9. Do parents need to attend each Friday night?

Parent/guardian must be in attendance at all times.

10. Do parents need to participate?

Parent/guardian participation is required in the running of all events each Friday night.

11. What events are conducted?

Depending on age of athlete sprints, distance, walks and hurdle races, jumps and throws over a 2 week program, there is also a specific athletic skills program for U6 and U7 children.

12.How important is winning

The focus is not on winning, St George Little Athletics encourages athletes to participate and always try doing their best.

13. Are athlete’s results available?

Individual results are recorded each night and printed out the following week in a format suitable for sticking into the sticker book provided at the start of the season.

14. How is competition conducted?

Children move around events each night as directed by their Age Manager along with any parents who are helping as officials.

15. Is coaching available for new athletes?

Orientation coaching is normally conducted for 6 weeks at the beginning of the season, the day and time will be advertised in the newsletter and on the noticeboard.

16. Is coaching available for experienced athletes?

At the start of the season watch for details in the newsletter and on the noticeboard.

17. What to do in case of inclement weather?

Phone Olds Park Clubhouse on 9153-5088 and a recorded message will inform you if the evening's competition has been cancelled.
